A powerful service portal, we create integrated space solutions, technology, infrastructure and procedures, that explore advantages of rapid & robust integration of visual in-situ & space observations.

Led by AnsuR in Norway, with users such as United Nations, EU Civil Protection and the Government of Amazonas, FP7 GEO-PICTURES is unique, and more than a technology project. GEO-PICTURES offers a new dimension in emergency management.

Groundbreaking GEO-PICTURES

 

GMES and Earth Observation combined with Position based Image and sensor Communications Technology for Universal Rescue, Emergency and Surveillance, is a ground-breaking EU FP7 SPACE project.

WHY?

In emergency situations striking humanity, environment and civil public, it is of paramount importance to quickly and accurately communicate field assessments showing what has happened, where, when it happens. This is situational awareness - based on identified gaps in emergency and disaster management. 

HOW?

GEO-PICTURES targets professional solutions for rapid access to full quality visual and sensor information anywhere anytime using satellite communications,  navigation and earth observation. 

Smartphone Crowdsourcing allows the public to provide reliable input. 

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) contribute with aerial observations.
