Brief description and previous relevant experience

The Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. (JUH) is part of the German nationwide Johanniter network as a national charitable organization. Over 10.000 employees and 20.000 volunteers as well as 2.000 young men doing civilian service represent JUH's workforce. The JUH Academy is the central education and training centre for all Johanniter in Germany.

Today the Academy provides management training, training in geriatric care, training of disinfectors, training and qualification of trainers of all branches, first aid training, training and qualification of first responders and civil protection teams. All tasks are subject to international standards.

Next to all major national players, we have partners in Turkey, Russia, Hungary, Cyprus, Greece, India, Pakistan Austria, Finland, etc.. With our ISTC we cooperate with the Federal Agency for Technical Relief and the CCD in performing the AMC in Cyprus, we provide trainers and lecturers for the SMC, HLC, and HLCR courses of the European Civil Protection.

Main tasks in project

  • Cooperation and collaboration in the development and specification of the project.

  • Field testing of newly developed hard- and software in Europe during exercises and trainings (AMC in Cyprus, Assessment and Coordination Training in Latvia.

  • Live missions conducted under the EU Community Mechanism, etc.).

  • Scientific supervision of the field testing phase in cooperation between Johanniter Academy and Accon University, Berlin (part of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V.).

  • Exchange and consolidation of the results with Amazonas State University.

  • Dissemination of results, presentation of results at workshops and symposia, work towards integrating of technique into operational guidelines and procedures
